1. A Cardboard Toilet Paper or Kitchen Paper Roll

2. Utility Knife

3. Adhesive Tape & Decorative Paper

4. 1 Large Spring

5. Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Stick

Instructions

Take your smartphone and place it at the centre of the cardboard tube. Using a pencil, mark the cardboard roll at each end of the smartphone. You’ll use these marking to create a hole in the cardboard roll in which the phone will be inserted.

Take your utility knife and use the markings to carefully cut the rectangle hole for the phone about one centimetre in width.

At this point, you can begin to decorate the cardboard tube using your decorative paper and tape. Once the roll is covered, cut a hole out of the paper in the same spot the hole is on the cardboard tube.

In order to allow your new dock to remain firm on the table and not roll around, apply your large spring on the back on the dock with your hot glue gun. If you don’t want to use the spring, you can create a base with a piece of wood and glue it on instead.

You’re done! You now have a docking station that not only holds your smartphone when you’re not using it, but it also works to amplify your smartphone’s speakers when you’re playing music or videos.
