5 Critical Stories the Mainstream Media Buried Under Charlie Sheen’s Personal Life
Charlie Sheen announced earlier this week on the Today show that he is HIV positive. Since that announcement, Sheen’s face has been plastered across newspapers, magazines, televisions and computer screens as the mainstream media obsesses over this single individual.
Why this obsession with Charlie Sheen? His life is no more important than anyone else’s life, yet people are infatuated with this news.
The reason Americans are addicted to the irrelevant is simple. It’s shoved down their throats 24 hours a day, seven days a week through all forms of media. From the garbage filled tabloids at the grocery store, to the 24 hour ‘News’ Networks, celebrity fluff is nearly impossible to ignore.
That being said, there are people in society who’ve tuned in, turned off (the TV), and woken up, and can sift through the propaganda and mental clutter to find the real news.
The establishment needs you to be lost in the irrelevant. The status quo is dependent upon you losing interest in actual matters that affect you and your family and becoming infatuated with Kim Kardashian and Charlie Sheen.
A society that pays attention to the evils of their government is dangerous to those who seek to control you.
So, what did the media cover up this week by blasting out news of Charlie Sheen and his unfortunate situation?
For starters, the media failed to mention that none of the attackers in the Paris terror attacks were refugees.
Following the tragic terrorist attacks in Paris, France, much of the global media debate has been centered around immigration, with many people suggesting that the recent wave of refugees into Europe from the Middle East is responsible for the violence. However, all of the attackers who’ve had their identities confirmed thus far, are actually EU citizens.
Secondly, conveniently slipping under the Mainstream media’s radar was the fact that members of the Anonymous collective waged an all-out digital war on ISIS.
On Monday, after being called “idots” by the terror group, anons took down 5,500 ISIS Twitter accounts. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. On Tuesday, anonymous taught the internet how to fight ISIS online and a mere day later, 20,000 more ISIS Twitter accounts were eviscerated.
As the US government attempts to ‘fight’ ISIS by stripping its citizens of their rights and privacy, Anonymous is giving a new look to the face of justice – and that look is a Guy Fawkes mask.
The third jaw-dropping story that failed to make it to prime time was the bombshell information dropped at the G20 convention by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Monday, Putin announced that he has shared intelligence with the other G20 member states, which reveals the 40 countries from which ISIS finances the majority of their terrorist activities. The list reportedly included a number of G20 countries.
“I provided examples based on our data on the financing of different Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) units by private individuals. This money, as we have established, comes from 40 countries and, there are some of the G20 members among them,” Putin told reporters.
The fourth story to miraculously avoid media coverage is the fact that police in America have officially become the largest group of thieves in the country.
According to the US Department of Justice, the value of asset forfeiture recoveries by US authorities from 1989-2010 was $12,667,612,066, increasing on average 19.5% per year.
In 2008, law enforcement took over $1.5 billion from the American public. While this number seems incredibly large, just a few years later, in 2014, that number tripled to nearly $4.5 billion.
When we examine these numbers, and their nearly exponential growth curve, it appears that police in America are getting really good at separating the citizen from their property — not just really good, criminally good.
To put this number into perspective, according to the FBI, victims of burglary offenses suffered an estimated $3.9 billion in property losses in 2014.
That means that law enforcement in America has stolen $600,000,000 more from Americans that actual criminal burglars.
When police surpass the criminal accomplishments of those they claim to protect you from, there is a serious problem. So Why has the media been more focused on Charlie Sheens sex life than the fleecing of Americans by the ones who claim to protect them?
The final story to be glazed over with celebrity fluff and consumerism encouragement is the fact that lawmakers are now calling for the military to lock Muslims in detention facilities.
Tennessee state Representative, Glen Casada, the chairman of the House Republican Caucus in the state Legislature, said this week that he wants to use military power to seek out the current refugees already in the states and round them up.
“If I err, it will be on the side of not having another Paris, France,” said Casada in an interview with NPR. “When we let them in, we are letting terrorists in.”
“We gather them, we take them back to ICE,” said Casada. “We say, ‘gentlemen, make sure these guys have no tie to terrorist activity.’ ”
For those not familiar, ICE stands for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the place Casada wants to ‘take them back to’ are strategic Detention Facilities across the country.
Women and small children be damned, no one is safe until all brown foreigners are locked behind bars.
And now you know why Charlie Sheen was so popular this week.
